CCIS Alberta CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to all immigrants refugees in Southern Alberta. Since our inception in 1981, we have been a community leader with solid experience in the design and delivery of comprehensive services for our newest neighbors. We deliver these services through a dynamic multi-cultural, multi-denominational, and multi-disciplinary team of professionals, who collectively speak over 60 languages.
Our logo will be used on all internal and external advertisements, posters, directories, email signatures, handbooks, PowerPoint presentations, website, etc. Therefore, we are looking for a modern and minimalist logo redesign that conveys who we are, without being too strong or overbearing that it takes attention away from the material being presented.
Competitor Research & Preliminary Sketches
Upon researching other brands in a similar field, I recognized that the usage of silhouettes of people in circular or diamond shapes was very predominant across the logos. With this repeating pattern, it was apparent that designing a logo in a similar form would make it blend in with the others and homogenize the brand. Due to this, I choose to develop a linework style design that depicted community in a horizontal form in order to position CCIS the best among their competitors.
